Senior Account Executive


We are looking for high-energy, driven, competitive, goal-oriented, success-hungry, rock star account executives with knowledge of retailing and retail technology, solid business-to-business sales, and account management experience. Account Executives will work within an assigned geographic territory to maintain and grow our current customer relationships and proactively generate and close new revenue opportunities within the retail marketplace. The ideal candidates will develop a superior understanding and selling capability for all that PivotLink offers, and will be responsible for selling these products into key accounts. Positions are open in all major US regions and will report directly to the Sr. VP of Sales and Chief Customer Officer.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Understand the profile of target customers. Build and maintain a qualified sales pipeline in conjunction with the lead generation team.
  • Meet (or better yet, exceed) quarterly and annual quota goals.
  • Build and maintain high-level relationships with contacts in enterprise organizations, and be able to conduct/lead executive level meetings.
  • Develop and manage client relationships throughout the sales cycle.
  • Forecast sales activity and revenue achievement in salesforce.com, while creating satisfied customers.
  • Manage deals from beginning to end, including pricing and contract negotiation.
  • Generate strategy and detailed proposals as needed.
  • Evangelize Pivotlink through product demonstrations, in--market events, and account specific initiatives.
  • Manage internal pre-sales support team during sales cycle.
  • Have a comprehensive understanding of the PivotLink solution suite and be able to articulate how it will drive value for clients.
  • Have a deep understanding of client metrics and how to analyze sales performance including ROI goals, Web site architecture, marketing philosophy, B2B demographics, etc.
  • Participate in trade shows and events as necessary.
  • Be a team player and work well with others.

Minimum Job Qualifications (these are minimum qualifications REQUIRED for this position)

  • 5-10 years experience in a field sales environment with proven quota performance in direct sales
  • Track record of over-achieving quota (top 10-20% of company) in past positions
  • Experience managing and closing complex, consultative sales-cycles-demonstrated ownership of all aspects of territory management
  • Experience delivering 5-7 in-person and web meetings with qualified decision makers per week
  • Excellent telephone and in-person presentation skills
  • Self-motivated and responsible individual who will represent the company with the highest levels of professionalism
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
  • Solid computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Salesforce.com
  • Able to handle multiple priorities and manage time effectively
  • Ability to work well within a team environment as well as individually
  • Able to reach out and build relationships with personnel across our three offices
  • Bachelor's degree (or higher) in business or a related field required
  • Travel required

Desired Job Qualifications (What we’d love you to have)

  • Highly Desired: Experience in the retail sector
  • Experience selling SaaS solutions
  • Consistent earnings of $175-225K plus in past Account Executive roles while carrying a minimum $1MM quota
  • Previous Sales Methodology training, CRM experience, and strong customer references preferred
  • Results driven, ambitious individual
  • Intuitive/creative thinker
  • Very comfortable operating in a fast-paced environment
