Business Intelligence Veteran Brings Vast Market and Operational Expertise
San Francisco, Calif. – July 28, 2010 – PivotLink, the leading provider of business intelligence (BI) solutions delivered via Software as a Service (SaaS), today announced the appointment of Jack Noonan to its Board of Directors. A 30-year software veteran, Noonan has served in senior executive roles for leading software companies and is widely recognized for catalyzing the business analytics market at SPSS, Inc., the leader in predictive analytics software and services.
Noonan became president and chief executive officer of SPSS in 1992, was appointed chairman in 2008 and led its $1.2 billion acquisition by IBM Corp in 2009. Over his 18 years with SPSS, Noonan grew the company from a $30 Million entrepreneurial organization with a single product to a market-leading $300 Million public company with over 40 product offerings.
“Jack is a passionate leader with a track record of building successful organizations and a tremendous technology vision for helping customers and partners extend the value of BI,” said Quentin Gallivan, president and CEO, PivotLink. “His guidance will be instrumental to PivotLink’s next stage of growth as we continue to deliver on the next generation of BI in the Cloud.”
Noonan added, “PivotLink is driving innovation in a market where low-cost solutions are table stakes. The new value proposition is about empowering all business users to explore data and make better decisions across the customer’s value chain. I’m excited to help PivotLink seize the market opportunity for this new generation of metrics-driven reports and dashboards that provide rapid value and are easy to use in the Cloud.”
Noonan began his software industry career in 1967, working in field engineering and systems development for IBM. He remained at IBM for 10 years before moving to Amdahl Corporation. At Amdahl, Noonan led Software Development, Marketing and Customer Service before becoming vice president of Corporate Product Support and Services. Noonan also held senior executive positions at Microrim and Candle Corporation. He serves on the Board of Directors for Morningstar and Lionbridge Technologies.
Noonan joins PivotLink Board members Deborah A. Farrington, general partner with StarVest Partners; Gordon Ritter, founder and general partner at Emergence Capital Partners; and Evangelos Simoudis, senior managing director, Trident Capital.
