Former SAP Executive David Vonk Joins PivotLink to Lead Sales and Business Development
Prominent BI Industry Executive Move Underscores Demand for Cloud-Based BI Solutions
San Francisco, Calif. – July 21, 2009 – PivotLink, the leading provider of business intelligence solutions delivered via Software as a Service (SaaS), today announced the appointment of David Vonk as senior vice president of sales and business development. Vonk brings extensive experience leading sales and sales operations at companies including SAP and OutlookSoft.
“Dave brings a deep understanding of the challenges customers face in making BI pervasive across their organizations and supply chains,” said Quentin Gallivan, CEO of PivotLink. “We’re delighted to have someone of his caliber join our management team and look forward to his contributions to our next stage of growth.”
“PivotLink and its partners are helping the world’s leading companies overcome the limitations of on-premise BI solutions with technology that is easy to use and provides rapid value at much lower price point,” said David Vonk, senior vice president of sales and business development. “With leading analysts describing SaaS as moving beyond the ‘Tipping Point’ and confirming that BI will continue to have a significant impact on companies, it’s the perfect time to join PivotLink and deliver on the original vision of BI.”
Prior to PivotLink, Vonk served as group vice president of North America Business User Sales at SAP, where he was responsible for driving the value of business user solutions, including SAP BusinessObjects Business Intelligence; Enterprise Performance Management; and Governance, Risk, and Compliance. Vonk joined SAP in 2007 through the OutlookSoft acquisition, where he was vice president of sales. Previously, Vonk served as assistant vice president of finance for First Union, where he focused on launching the credit card business, growing alternative revenue channels and M&A activities.
Vonk’s appointment follows PivotLink’s announcement earlier this month about extending its lead in the SaaS BI market with a surge in customer adoption and record results.
